Last week, the ATA Advocacy Committee called on our members to tell the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) why proposed changes to Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would be beneficial. Many of you responded, and the ATA Advocacy Committee thanks you for taking action!
The Committee submitted its own letter to HHS with help from the National Health Law Program and the contributions of a dozen ATA members who are experts in the field of medical translation and interpreting. Thanks to these efforts, we hope to see stronger language access protections nationwide soon.
